GSMA names Barcelona first Mobile World Capital
Last week, the GSMA (GSM Association) announced that Barcelona has been selected as the Mobile World Capital from 2012 to 2018. As the Mobile World Capital, Barcelona will be the home of the mobile industry’s event, the GSMA Mobile World Congress, and will also develop a range of other programmes and activities that will span the entire year benefiting not only the citizens of Barcelona, Catalonia and Spain, but also the worldwide mobile industry.
Being myself from Barcelona and leading Tempos 21, a subsidiary of Atos located in Barcelona specialised in the development of mobile solutions, I thought it was something to highlight in my first contribution to this blog where I will try to focus in Mobility related issues in my future contributions.
I am very excited that Barcelona will be the Mobile World Capital for the next seven years, and I look forward to seeing you in the Mobile World Capital.
